Lewis Noble Studio.

I have added a new date for this year’s summer school. 3rd Week 21 – 25 Sept.

Weeks 1 & 2 are now full

Summer Painting School in the Peak District.

The sessions will provide the opportunity to work alongside a professional artist, with the aim to create finished pieces of work from initial conception through development of your ideas and working practice.

What do I get?

Each painter will be given a good sized space in the studio as well as practical and creative tuition. You will need to provide your own materials but I will provide the space, time and motivation for you to make the most of your ideas. I want to make sure everyone has plenty of room to work so numbers will be very limited to a maximum of FOUR places each week.

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for all abilities and you will receive tuition tailored for your own needs. Our location makes it ideal for landscape artists but there is no pressure to use landscape as your subject.

You may be about to begin a foundation or degree course in September, or you may be mid course and want to continue developing your work. You may have an exhibition to work towards and need to start building a body of work.

Or you may just want to give a boost to your leisure painting and push your creativity to the next level, working alongside a group of friendly, like-minded artists in a studio environment.

Studio

The studio is in the beautiful Peak District village of Parwich near Ashbourne, Derbyshire and is comfortable and well lit. Follow this Google map link to see the location. We are perfectly located for getting out into the landscape within easy walking distance. Short drives can take you to some truly spectacular locations.

FINAL WEEK AT CHATSWORTH

This is the last week of the show at Chatsworth so if you havn’t seen it now’s the time. The exhibition will close at 5pm on Wed. 29th April when the paintings will be taken and down and moved to London in readiness for the show at the Hart Gallery on 7th May.

VIDEO NATION FILM NOW ONLINE

The short film made for the BBC’s Video Nation Archive is now available to view online. In the 5min film Lewis talks about aspects of his work, working practice and his time at Chatsworth.

The exhibition of paintings from Chatsworth Reflected opens next week form March 11th and continues throughout April.

I have just finished filming for a short piece as part of the BBC’c Video Nation Archive. This is a wide ranging and eclectic collection of films on the myriad of experiences of British life.

The ‘Artists Diary’ running in Derbyshire Life magazine is now on the second installment in the November issue.

‘The editor has kindly agreed to run several months of entries leading up to the exhibitions next year and this is a great forum to let people know what I’m up to and what it means to me.’

I know that there are many regular viewers of this site so seeing as I’ve been a bit qiuet for a few weeks I’ thought I’d check in with you.

I’ve been working pretty furiously on the ‘Flood’ paintings and this series I think is drawing to a close. I’m just trying to finish up the last (& biggest) one of these and as ever the end of the process is the most elusive thing. It’s getting there though.

I’m looking forward to the next group of paintings which I want to be of and from the Deer Park. I can’t say exactly as I’ve not been in there yet!
