It seems likely that there will be at least one work on display at Chatsworth throughout the year. We are looking for an appropriate place site a painting, which can be changed regularly in order to demonstrate the progress of the work.
The final location hasn’t yet been chosen but one possibility is the Paxton Conservative in the garden.
I’ve decided collect my reference photos together to form a Photo Diary page. I’m hoping that this will build into a library of images that will record my wanderings over the year. Some may be used to reference paintings, others just snaps of things that catch my eye.
I very rarely work from photographs as I find that they contain at once, too much and too little information. They have all the detail but little of the emotion (this may be the lack of skill as a photographer of course). I do find them useful as memory aids though and sometimes can just be interesting in their own right.
